EBONY PEARLS LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

A program to motivate and inspire our youth to be leaders who will make a positive difference in the world. This is a program to enhance and develop youth between the ages of sixteen and nineteen, to develop leadership skills and to provide scholastic resources for maintaining an interest in college life.

Selected young women with high moral and spiritual values, who have demonstrated academic competency will activity participate in community service projects, workshops that develop ethical standards, financial planning, promote unity and friendship, and enhance social skills, self-respect, and teamwork. Additionally, selected young men will be provided similar activities.

 

Scholarship Program

Financial support is provided to deserving high school students who have applied for and met the set criteria of academic performance, community service and recommendations by community leaders. Each year Ebony Pearls Foundation, along with other community organizations, hosts a Scholarship Reception to present scholarships to deserving students throughout the county.

Seniors Program

Members of The Ebony Pearls Foundation of SD Inc sponsors a seniors’ center and arranges monthly activities and speakers on various topics such as diabetes, estate planning, genealogy, and healthy eating practices, along with lunch, fun activities with prizes and gifts, and an annual Christmas party. Additionally, we work with other local and organizations and services that support and advocate for the well-being of seniors in the community.

Community Organization Support

We financially and actively support local community organizations, such as Elementary Institute of Science, Jackie Robinson YMCA, Malcolm X Library, MLK Parade, churches, and schools.
